It's a Girl!

So we had our 20 week appointment yesterday. The technician waited until the very end to tell us what the baby was but I was enjoying looking at all of the baby's features so it wasn't too hard to wait. It's so amazing how you can see everything! The bones and organs looked great, her heartbeat is 150. She was also moving around like crazy! The lady doing the ultrasound asked if I had drank a coke for breakfast since the baby was so hyped up. But luckily the lady was enjoying it and not annoyed. She could barely capture the heartbeat because our little rascal was moving around too much. But we got it eventually. I am so excited to be having a girl. My sister who is a month ahead of me is also having a girl so they'll have to be great friends. I would have been happy with a boy too, but now I get to buy really cute clothes for her! Anyway, that's the update. Baby girl Redfearn was measuring 20 weeks 4 days when she's supposed to be 20 weeks 2 days but the lady said to keep my due date of September 19th, so that's what we're doing! It seems so much more real now that we know that it's a girl and can now pick a name and start calling her it! So fun.

Remember Me: Mixed Feelings

Spoiler Alert: If you have not seen "Remember Me" and don't want the ending spoiled, move on and come back and read this after you've seen the movie. That said, moving on. So I'll admit I do enjoy Robert Pattinson. And I liked him even before he was Edward - Cedric Diggory ring a bell? Anyway, I wanted to see this movie even though I didn't really know what it was about since the trailer doesn't really give any of the storyline away. Overall, this was a great movie. I enjoyed it, despite the constant smoking, drinking and swearing, and would have recommended ... until I saw the last 10 minutes. There is a great scene of Rob being silhouetted against a window and that would have been a great shot to end with. Everything after that scene is pointless and unbelievable. There was no point in bringing in the horrendous events of 9/11 into this movie. It made no sense and I didn't buy it as a plausible ending. I felt ripped off after loving the rest of the movie. The horrible ending has nothing to do with the actors or their performance (I think they all did a wonderful job). It is the screenwriter that ruined this movie - who wanted a dramatic ending and decided to throw in 9/11 out of nowhere leaving the viewers stunned, confused and, in my case, thoroughly annoyed. That said, the first 10 minutes could have been eliminated as well. We didn't really need to see the mom get killed and I find it dumb that the guys who robbed her would come back and kill her and not the little girl (especially since once the subway doors close, they don't open again). It just seemed weird. So, in conclusion, this would be a good all around movie if they had cut out the first and last ten minutes of the film. The ending is just so terrible. The only word I can really think to sum up the ending of this film is absurd. Absolutely absurd.
